Hosting a 3rd Party Fundraiser

  1. Please check out other events that COHA has so that you don't duplicate events.
  2. Read through the 3rd Party Information. (to be posted soon)
  3. Submit the 3rd Party Application to COHA office (application to be posted soon)
  4. Once approved, meet with COHA staff to determine the level of help COHA can provide to your event
  5. Have fun!

Ideas for 3rd Party Events (this is not a full list and we are always open to new ideas!)

  • Garage Sale – have friends donate stuff they no longer need.
  • Bake Sale – Hold at child's school, your office, or at the local ballpark.
  • Used Book/CD/DVD Sale – sell to used book stores or on Craigslist.
  • Car Wash – get your neighbors, kids, friends involved!
  • Pancake or Donut Breakfast – invite your neighbors or soccer team – charge an entry fee.
  • Coin Drive – great to do at school, work, or a local business. i.e. "Change for Change."
  • Coin Canisters at local business – dry cleaners, donut shops, and coffee shops – all great places to collect donations.
  • Flower sale – ask a local florist to provide day-old arrangements.
  • Ice Cream Social – YUM! Invite friends, neighbors, co-workers.
  • Pizza Party – Combine with Ice Cream Social – or have a separate event.
  • "Sell Your Services" – What talents do you have?  Baker?  Tax Accountant? Sell your skills for a donation to COHA.
  • Craft or Art Show – Sell your crafts, or host an art exhibit and auction.
  • Potluck Dinner Auction – Each family brings a fully cooked meal to auction to others at event.
  • Raffle – collect donations from local business, sell raffle tickets at work, school, church, and throughout the neighborhood.
  • Live/Silent/Online Auction – collect donations from local businesses.  For example: dinner for 2 with tickets to local playhouse.
  • Restaurant Benefit Night – many restaurants offer a benefit night – you spread the word and receive % of sales.
  • Wine & Cheese Tasting – fun get together with friends.
  • Wine Pull  - ask friends or local businesses to donate bottles of wine, host party and sell wine tickets – each ticket = wine pull.
  • Dress Down Days – co-workers pay to dress down at work. i.e. "$10 Jean Day."
  • Softball/Kickball/Bowling/Sport Tournament – Pick your favorite sport!
  • Movie Night – at your house or at local cinema.
  • Carnival – for the neighborhood kids, at your church, or school.
  • Poker Tournament – prizes for winners donated by local businesses, players pay entry fee.
  • Bachelor Auction – guys donate a date package, girls pay entry fee and bid on guys.
  • Comedy / Talent Show – recruit local comedy/talent to perform.  Attendees vote for their favourite with $$.
  • Birthday Party! – invite friends to donate the amount = to your age!
  • Camp for Kids – cooking, art, swimming, etc.  Charge a fee and invite the neighbours for a camp day during spring/summer break.
