Welcome to Homes for the Holidays!

About the Designers

Catherine Matity

Catherine Matity has always loved creating with her hands – whether painting, gardening, or transforming a space through design. With formal training in autobody repair and a lifetime of creative work, she brings both technical precision and artistic flair to everything she does.

Over the years, Catherine has gained extensive experience in custom Christmas décor for both private homes and large-scale corporate venues. One of her most notable projects was a 12-foot wreath designed for the main lobby of Casino Regina. Her career has also included interior styling, furniture and accessory sales, and flooring design.

Originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, Catherine relocated to Kelowna in 2019, where she continues to share her creative talents with the community. When she’s not working on design projects, she enjoys painting, gardening, travelling to Mexico in the winter, and spending time with friends, family, and her grandchildren.

For Catherine, design is about more than décor – it’s about creating experiences that bring warmth and joy into a space. She’s delighted to be part of Homes for the Holidays and to share her creativity and holiday spirit with the community.

Deborah Oegema

Deborah Oegema, a talented home décor stylist based in Kelowna, BC, brings a warm and welcoming touch to Homes for the Holidays for the third consecutive year. Specializing in seasonal décor and table styling, Deborah has honed her skills to create inviting spaces that beautifully capture the essence of each season.

Professionally, she works as a visual merchandiser for Treehouse Interiors, where she helps customers discover and develop their personal style to create homes that are both cozy and stylish.

At home, Deborah and her husband enjoy filling their space with the laughter and creativity of their children and grandchildren. Together, they enjoy collaborative projects – from renovations to gardening – that foster family connection and creativity.

In her spare time, Deborah shares her design inspiration and creative journey on Instagram at @mymapleleafhome, where she connects with fellow décor enthusiasts and showcases her latest styling ideas.

Kara Gibson-Guyitt

Kara Gibson-Guyitt, the creative force behind Blue Alice Space & Design, brings over two decades of interior design experience to this year’s Homes for the Holidays tour. With 22 years in the industry, Kara has become a trusted expert in high-end renovations, custom-built homes, and multi-family projects.

In 2019, she founded Blue Alice Space & Design – a full-service boutique design firm known for creating elevated, inspired living spaces. What sets Kara apart is her relationship-driven approach. She believes that truly remarkable design begins with understanding the people who live in the space, allowing her to create homes that are not only beautiful but deeply personal.

After showcasing her own renovated home in the 2024 tour, Kara returns this year in a new role – assisting another participant in bringing their holiday vision to life. Whether designing for clients or curating her own home, Kara’s work blends functionality with elegance, always celebrating connection, creativity, and life’s meaningful moments.

Kimberley Andrei

Kimberley Andrei is the creative director behind Faint of Heart Events, a company known for its whimsical, romantic, and thoughtfully styled spaces. A vintage enthusiast with a deep love of design, Kimberley brings heart and creativity to every project she touches.

She began her journey in home décor and design under her own name before expanding into rentals through Lake and Luna Styling, which included personal styling, home décor, storefront windows, and styled sets. Today, through Faint of Heart Events, she channels her passion into weddings and special occasions that feel magical and uniquely personal.

At home, Kimberley describes herself as a maximalist with a nostalgic heart. Her collections of meaningful, eclectic pieces bring magic into her home throughout the seasons and reflect her love of the “weird and wonderful.”

Participating in Homes for the Holidays is her way of honouring the many families touched by the Central Okanagan Hospice Association and the compassion of its team. For Kimberley, the tour is about bringing joy to the season and embracing the warmth of community. She hopes visitors feel the magic and coziness of her home – a place to reflect, remember, and celebrate what truly matters.

Nikki Shann

Nikki Shann is a (nearly) lifelong West Kelowna resident and imaginative designer who infuses her mid-century modern home with bold, maximalist charm. As the Interior Design Lead for Highstreet Ventures, Nikki brings her creative flair to condominium interiors and community spaces, designing environments that feel vibrant, functional, and welcoming.

Nikki’s eye for design revealed itself early; her childhood Barbie houses were never safe from a full renovation. Today, that same creative energy inspires both her professional work and the spaces she curates for her family.

Her family has encouraged her to open her doors for Homes for the Holidays since its inception, and they’re thrilled she’s finally said yes. Her husband, Blaine – assistant designer and self-proclaimed pack mule – is especially excited to share their festive space, which includes over 50 boxes of carefully curated Christmas décor.

Hospice House and the volunteers of the Central Okanagan Hospice Association hold a special place in Nikki’s heart for the incredible care they provided to her parents in their final days. This year, she’s proud to honour their legacy through her participation in Homes for the Holidays, sharing her creativity, gratitude, and love for community.

Sam Todd

Sam Todd is the creative mind behind Aspen & Elm Developments Inc., a Kelowna-based custom homebuilding company known for blending timeless craftsmanship with modern design. With a background in finance, Sam combines practical expertise with a passion for thoughtful, functional design, ensuring every project balances beauty, livability, and long-term value.

For Sam, a home is far more than walls and finishes – it’s where family life unfolds, where stories are shared, and where everyday moments become lasting memories. That belief guides both her professional work and personal design philosophy.

At home, Sam is a mom to two young boys, and family life is at the heart of everything she creates. She believes a home should be both beautiful and approachable, a place where laughter and connection naturally thrive.

This year marks Sam’s Homes for the Holidays debut. Her Christmas theme embraces classic, simple elegance, with natural greenery, warm gold accents, and organic textures, creating a timeless holiday look that feels both warm and inviting.

For Sam, opening her doors this season is about more than design inspiration; it’s a way to give back to the community she calls home and support the Central Okanagan Hospice Association. To see more of Sam’s work and Aspen & Elm’s projects in the community, follow @aspenandelminc.
