Volunteer Program

Volunteers are the Heart of Hospice.

Volunteers are an integral part of our team. The Central Okanagan Hospice Association offers a 40-hour Hospice Palliative Care Volunteer Training Program when needed. All interested volunteers are asked to participate in a volunteer information session prior to participating in the training program.

The training program brings volunteers together to learn, share, and build relationships. COHA has adopted the learning principles from the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association for consistency and information volunteers need to provide high quality services.

COHA is committed in providing ongoing support for volunteers offering monthly support meetings and quarterly educational opportunities. We also love to recognize our volunteers at appreciation events. Other community educational opportunities are offered to our volunteers.
