Honouring the Past
Supporting the Future

Remembering our loved ones is a powerful way to extend compassion and support to others in need. Honouring your loved one helps other navigate the difficult journey of grief.

Monique’s Story

Three years after losing her husband to cancer and accessing COHA’s supports, Monique faced another unimaginable tragedy—a devastating car accident that took her 90-year-old mother’s life and left both Monique and her young granddaughter hospitalized with injuries. Overwhelmed by grief and pain, Monique once again turned to COHA. With COHA’s gentle support—through counseling, reiki, yoga, and grief support groups—Monique began to find space to grieve, process, and slowly begin healing. Her granddaughter, too, found comfort in COHA’s children’s grief groups and Horse Whisperer Grief Camp, where she could express her emotions in a safe and caring environment. Monique’s daughter, also mourning her grandmother, joined the circle of support, showing how COHA’s reach extends across generations. Today, Monique says she can’t imagine navigating this loss without COHA’s compassion and care. It’s more than a service—it’s a lifeline that helps fill the void with peace, understanding and hope.
